Account Info: Your email address and name (via Google Login) to identify you.
Comments: The text you post and the YouTube video ID it is associated with.
Usage: We do NOT track your browsing history. We only know which video you are currently commenting on.

3. How We Use Data

Your data is used solely to display your comments to other users of the extension. We do not sell your data to third parties.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing Open Comments (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, strictly do not use the Service.

2. Nature of the Service

Open Comments provides an "overlay" commentary layer for the web. We allow users to post comments on URLs (e.g., YouTube video pages) where comments may otherwise be disabled or moderated.

We do not host the underlying video or article content.
We do not control the original content creators.
Comments posted here are stored on our servers, not on YouTube or the target website.

3. User-Generated Content & Liability

You retain full ownership of the comments you post. However, by posting, you grant Open Comments a worldwide license to display and distribute your text.

We are a platform, not a publisher. Under Section 230 of the CDA (and similar international laws), Open Comments is not liable for content posted by users. Opinions expressed in comments are solely those of the authors.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

While we champion free speech, you may NOT use this Service to:

Post illegal content (e.g., CSAM, threats of violence).
Spam or engage in automated "botting".
Dox (reveal private information) of other individuals.

We reserve the right to ban users or delete content that violates these basic safety standards at our sole discretion.

5. "As Is" Warranty

The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that comments will be preserved indefinitely.
